Why I Serve as a Board Member of MBMM

As some of you readers of this may already know, I am a member of the First Baptist Church of Malden an extremely diverse American Baptist congregation. This is only one of the reasons I was attracted to serving MBMM.

Just let me list a few of the reasons: I am the son of immigrants. I live in Malden, one of the most diverse cities in the USA. My church has sponsored refugees in the past. I strongly believe that God has created opportunity in the USA for all people. We Christians are responsible for promoting acceptance of all persons into our communities. MBMM is involved in Refugee Resettlement and I am interested in helping those refugees.

My long-term experience in working with budgets and financial transactions could benefit MBMM, and fills a need for me to stay active in the financial field. I serve as a Board Member and as the Treasurer of MBMM and find the work interesting and challenging. I am also a member of the Refugee sub-committee which works directly with MBMM’s Refugee Advocates.

If you don’t know me, please seek me out at any MBMM function. I would like to get to know all of you who support MBMM and what it does.
